Over the past week, I have sat down with every student and discussed their goals for the remainder of the school year. Many students stated that they are easily distracted while reading and are not spending that much time at home with a book. I came across this article and thought it was relevant to what they had stated for their personal goals. This article provides simple tips on how you can help to foster a love for reading in your home. Enjoy!

Blog looks great! I will try to read the article you linked to later. I have noticed that Sam's reading has dropped off this school year--especially compared to what it was during the summer. I am also finding that he wants to re-read books which is something I rarely do and don't understand the reasoning behind! :)
See you at conferences next week---
Kim
Many students in class are re-reading books in the past month. Good readers re-read books for sure enjoyment. I would always encourage him to find new books by making a trip to the library or talking to his classmates. See you next week!
